The Play Village in Derbyshire is our flagship installation representing the historic market town of Ashbourne, on the edge of the Peak District.

Like all our work, it’s centred around the magic of role-play. This venue features eight unique play pods. These are child-size replicas of local buildings set around a village green, including a construction site, a café, a fire station, a hairdressing salon, a hospital, an office, a supermarket, and a veterinary surgery.

Each play pod has been carefully designed and built for small children and their carers. They’re individually crafted from wood and hand-painted to look authentic and intriguing to curious young minds.

Many of our team are parents. That’s why we were inspired to create a place that’s the antithesis of the loud, high-energy, physically demanding, soft play centres that often leave children more revved up than when they arrived.
